Dirty Hands

Vision.

The act or power of anticipating that which will, or may come to be.

But when anticipation meets dirty hands there is no end to possibility.

Hands,

Wrist- high with the grit that comes from birthing dreams,

Fingernails lodged with the dirt that comes from uprooting doubtful weeds

Palms calloused from the bending in prayer,

Aligning finite moments, with what has already been written in eternity.

Your vision,

A vital thread in the quilt of the world’s history.

Your hands,

Scared and bruised from plowing in seasons when the ground is most rocky.

Where deadlines aren’t met, your expectations upset, and when partners forget their commitments to you.

Will you still anticipate your vision coming through?

Will you still put your hands to the planting and plowing, pruning and watering, patience and faith to ensure that growth accrues?

Will you have the courage to believe that God desires to channel greatness through you?

Vision.

The act or power of anticipating that which will, or may come to be.

But when anticipation meets dirty hands there is no end to possibility.
